The Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit

Holy Trinity
Fridolin Leiber
(1853–1912)

How weird is that picture?
I have been looking at it while looking at The Shield of Trinity

It makes for some very good meditation.
It comes in fleeting glimpses, tangible, yet elusive.

"The Father is God"
"The Son is God"
"The Holy Spirit is God"
"God is the Father"
"God is the Son"
"God is the Holy Spirit"
"The Father is not the Son"
"The Son is not the Father"
"The Father is not the Holy Spirit"
"The Holy Spirit is not the Father"
"The Son is not the Holy Spirit"
"The Holy Spirit is not the Son"

The mysteries of the Christian faith are wondrous.

I like this. Sometimes it's good practice to meditate on the stuff we don't understand about God, not to gain understanding but simply to appreciate the enourmity of God and how much we'll NEVER understand.
